We were approached by Telkom to come up with a creative solution for communicating their Corporate Brand to all its staff. We identified their dilemma, as being that the staff would not take ownership of the Corporate ID and our dilemma was how to make sure they do! We took the brief, tore it up and came up with something outside the box…and they loved it…and it worked! The theme we developed showed staff that Telkom is part of their DNA, thus making them part of the Telkom family.

Our solution consists of a kit which opens up to include the communiqué on brand importance, a brand values office poster, a Brand Champion pledge certificate, a push-out brand identity kit and a puzzle which had to be built in order to get the clues to enter the online competition, all written in easily understandable language. We wanted the Telkom staff to feel proud of the Telkom brand, which by default makes them proud of their company and how they represent their company.

Hannelie van Tonder, Group Manager: Corporate Identity, said: “From a brand perspective this was a huge success. Nationally ALL staff joined in showing how proud they are of their brand. The staff got involved from the get go by building puzzles and submitting their answers on the web, to making their pledges. This project greatly enhanced brand awareness within Telkom and we only got positive feedback!”
